Crane cable (drum) is a type of cable designed specifically for crane drums, and its characteristics and applications are of great significance for ensuring the normal operation of cranes, improving work efficiency, and ensuring operational safety.
Crane cables (drums) are cable products formed in a drum shape from the outer shell fixed on both ends of the shaft, used to connect power and cranes. According to the classification of purposes, crane cables (drums) can be divided into crane cables, mobile power cables, motor cables, etc. According to the classification of structures, crane cables (drums) can be divided into plastic drum cables, wooden drum cables, steel drum cables, etc.
The drum frame includes a rigid structure, usually made of steel or iron materials, used to support cable reels. The reel (or reel core) is used to hold cables and can rotate to roll or unfold cables. The transmission device includes a motor, reducer, and transmission chain, which are used to drive the rotation of the reel. Other parts also include intermediate discs or layerers, cable reels or clamps, fixing devices, sensors or counters, etc.

Material and Design

 

Conductor: Multiple strands of precision twisted oxygen free copper wire are used to ensure the conductivity of the cable.
Insulation and sheath: Special mixed nitrile PVC soft insulation and mixed 70 degree weather resistant PVC sheath are used to ensure the flexibility and weather resistance of the cable.
Strengthening and buffering: Jute ropes are added between the cable cores to support the cable, and a layer of non-woven fabric cushioning is wrapped between the core wire and the sheath to improve the cable's tensile and tear resistance.
