Fieldbus is an industrial data bus that is the underlying data communication network in the field of automation. It replaces the traditional transmission of 4-20mA analog signals and ordinary switch signals with digital communication. It is a fully digital, bidirectional, and multi station communication system that connects intelligent field equipment and automation systems.
The fieldbus connects multiple devices through a single bus to achieve data exchange and communication between devices. Each device has a unique address on the bus, and data transmission is carried out through address recognition. The sending device packages the data into data frames and sends them to the receiving device through the bus. The receiving device determines whether to receive the data by identifying the address in the data frame. To ensure the reliability of data transmission, a verification mechanism, such as cyclic redundancy check (CRC), is usually used.
